Application

Open EGL-2.4.5.dmg, accept the license agreement, and drag and drop EGL.app to the Applications folder, or wherever else you want to install it.

First Run

The first time you run EGL.app, if the system complains then you will need to go to Apple-System Preferences-Security & Privacy, scroll down, and allow the app to run.

Examples

There are three folders with examples. These folders can be put in some convenient location under the user home directory.

The folder Hilo has project Hilo.egl and the corresponding transect file.

The folder ASCE 7-16 Commentary Example has project Monterey.egl and the corresponding transect file. This example is from the ASCE 7-16 Commentary. Insignificant differences in results are a result of using h_R = 0, rather than the 0.1 ft used in the Commentary. Note that it is unnecessary to use an artificial value for h_R, as suggested in the Commentary.

The folder Overwash uses a transect from Coos Bay, Oregon that illustrates an Overwash EGL analysis.
